Grim Natwick



Grim Natwick was born in Wisconsin USA in 1890 on 16th August. His Birth name was Myron Natwick . He created some of the characters which are liked by most of us like “Betty Boop” (http://www.greetings.ca/betty-boop-is-is-79-029680.php,Greetings.ca), which was presented by Max Fleischer but Grim was the creator of it. Natwick Worked on this very famous animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) by Walt Disney Studios. He was the oldest animator Working in that studio. Later grim Worked in other commercial studios and industrial films for firms in New York. He also worked in Jay Ward and Bill Scotts project “George of the Jungle program”. He later in his 90s was continuing to draw until his eyesight became weak.

Charles Martin Jones


Charles Martin Jones also known as Chuck Jones born in Washington on 21st September 1912, he is another Great animator, which directed in the famous studios of Warner Bros. He is the one who created very different type of character like Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote and Pepe le Pew. He also animated Bugs bunny, which is my favorite.
On one of the websites which I was browsing I found this interesting quote which is
“On one of his most famous characters, Wile E. Coyote] The coyote is victimized by his own ineptitude. I never understood how to use tools and that's really the coyote's problem”

Jones also worked on Tom and Jerry cartoons. Where he was getting very famous he got to be known as a guru of animation. On February of 2002 he died of heart failure. He was given Honorary Academy Award for his lifetime work in 1996

Walt Disney


Walt Disney, I say he is the father of Animation, his animations affected on the entertainment industry that of what we see it today. He introduced many ways of in animation and ways of educating as well as teaching it. His imaginations and innovative creations have taken this industry to a different level. Walter Elias Disney was born on December 5th, 1901 in Chicago he had 3 brothers and a sister. After he was born they moved to Missouri, where Walt spent his most of his childhood. At a very early age he was very much interested in art and drawing, I cannot believe this but it’s true that at the age of seven he sold his sketches to neighbors. This is how he became more creative. He joined Academy of Fine Arts to improve his skills. He loved nature, animals, and wildlife. Only after some Struggle in his life his first cartoon was on television called Crazy, which was a silent cartoon. Only then sound was introduced in motion pictures and that’s how Mickey Mouse was on screen, it was the World’s first sound cartoon. Then Snow White and the seven Dwarfs was a full length animated film with sound which was a big hit in the Industry, Soon in five years many more films were made in the studios of Walt Disney like Bambi, Dumbo , Fantasia and Pinocchio .

George Orson Welles


George Orson Welles is a film director who was born on may 6th, 1915. Orson was an Stage actor at first and then he became a director, he was also a good at theater, screen writer and broadcaster, He first was heard on the radio in the early 1934 , he then went to Hollywood and made his first featured film was “Citizen kane” 1941 which was one of the best American Film made , His other famous movies where Then Magnificent Ambersons (1942 )and The stranger (1946) . Later he moved to Europe because he was frustrated with the experience in studio system. He directed, produced and acted as well in the film Othello (1952) He appeared as an actor in many more films. I think this director was only famous for one reason that was making powerful film, which had a good impact on the audience. Welles then died of a heart attack on October 10th in the year 1985. Media says his ashes were placed at a friends place in Spain and they might have dispelled in the towns bullfighting ring.

Steven Spielberg


Steven Spielberg the Academy Award winning Filmmaker, Director, Producer was born on December 18th 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was one of the youngest television directors, he made his first professional film which was 24 minutes short called ‘Amblin’, Universal studio’s executives were so impressed that they signed him and that’s how he was the youngest director. After directing movies like Jaws (1975), ET (1982), Jurassic Park (1993) which I love to watch even now and many more he got his first best director award, He also won three Oscar award  this was when he decided to setup his own company , In 1994 a new studio was formed by Spielberg  , Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen called DreamWorks  . He was a very active director from young, He got an early success for many films then he decided he would direct what he wanted, then he also directed science fiction and beyond films.

Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock


Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock is a famous Director, Producer, Screenwriter and television personality, he was born on august 13th, 1899. He was educated from St. Ignatius College; University of London .He began his filmmaking career in 1919, illustrating titles for silent films at Paramount’s Studio. In 1922 he directed a film, which was not completed. But as of now we know him as a very well known Director for his suspense movie called “psycho” he was known as master of suspense, For creating a new experience among the audience. I like watching thrilling and suspense movies, while browsing I came across this director and liked watching his films. In 1939 Hitchcock Left England for Hollywood, he made the first film, which also won an Academy Award for the best picture called Rebecca (1940), he directed more than 50 feature films in his career. The Complex psychological thriller, Psycho (1960) is the best-known thriller throughout, the famous part of the film is blood in the shower scene. Some of his other films are Blackmail, Murder, The man Who Knew Too Much and 39steps. On April 28th, 1980 Hitchcock died of Liver failure and Heart problems. Peter Seville


Peter Seville  is London based Graphic designer born in 1955 in Manchester, England. He had a Firm Called Peter Saville Associates, which was known for Joy Division, and other musicians signed factory records. These records were labeled that he co-founded. . “Referring to his work between 1978 and 1985 Paul Morley described Saville as "a designer of record sleeves that you were tempted to applaud whenever you saw them". In 1979 he became an art director of virgin offshoot, his works related modernism, he worked with Roxy music and also at Wham to OMD.
In 2003 his works were showcased at London’s Design Museum, were he did not reach the museum for exhibition’s marketing materials.
Adidas commissioned him to design limited edition shoes, 5000 units for the adicolor sneakers release, which were then released in 2005.
In 2004 he was commissioned to create a new visual and cultural identity for Manchester-by-Manchester City council.
